Hi, I found a thread on here about the sansa mp3 player but it didn't address my issue. First I have only been using Ubuntu for a few weeks. Just wish it could play nicely with everything. Well I plug in my player and put files on it. then I unmount it, then I disconnect it. It does the system restart on its own. The only problem is whenever I turn it on, it always does a system refresh. It is a bit irritating since it takes about 5 min. to do this. With windows it would only do it when it was unmounted. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

I have a couple of sansa players and they both do the same.

Every time you add or remove tunes then it has to do a refresh to rebuild it's database... otherwise your new songs wouldn't show up.

However mine sometimes will do this just on powering up, without even being connected. Like you said it's annoying, but I can't find a way of stopping it, even updating to latest firmware hasn't helped.
