I've just done a re-install of Lucid Lynx netbook since I was having space problems due to having installed it on the smaller HD . On doing the restart I'm just getting 'Geom Error' on the screen.
Is there anything I can do about this or do I have to go through the install again?

I think I'll just repeat the install, it's probably the simplest way.

Thanks,

if the issue is related to the BIOS settings then reinstalling won't help out. You say you installed on a smaller hard drive first. Did you replace that drive with the larger one? If/when you did, did you verify the BIOS settings to confirm the drive was detected properly?

This is an EeePC with a 4Gb drive and a 16GB drive. on my first install everything went on the 4GB drive and I kept getting warnings that I was running out of space. The 16GB drive could be mounted but I had no idea how to make use of it and it had to be remounted everytime I started.
I had two failed installs on the 16GB drive, the 3rd time I looked at the advanced tab before proceeding with the install and found it was going to install the bootloader on the other drive. I altered that and this time it is working. So far!

I still don't know what a geom error is, but with any luck I shall never need to know!

Thank you for your advice.

This may help explain the geom error more.
