Out of all of the certs that are available in the industry, when does it make sense to get a Linux certification?

Any certification would look good on a resume. What you should do is prioritize and put them in order according to which ones will help you meet your personal goals.

If you're job hunting or resume building, then check the trade rags for the best sense of where the industry is headed and what certs will help you get hired.

I started with industry standard, non vendor specific certs but will probably pursue an MS cert next since I"m about out of vendor neutral certs that will help me in my chosen field.

And no, I don't have a Linux cert, so it's on my list as well, but not really high since it won't help me advance in my current position.
