What is the difference between Dolphin, Nautilus, Konqueror, and KFM?

Dolphin and Nautilus, not too much... They both support FTP, SMB, etc. (Pretty sure they both support SFTP)

Konqueror is also a web browser, text editor, terminal emulator, picture viewer.

Some are "integrated" for use with a specific desktop environment (Nautilus in Gnome, Thunar for Xfce, etc) and are prob'ly the best choice for use in that environment.

But you can use any file manager in any desktop environment if you wish. It just brings in alot of dependencies (libraries and stuff) from it's own desktop environment if you choose one that isn't native to whatever desktop environment you're using.

I like PCManFM (from the LXDE project) even though I use Xfce as my desktop environment. It pulls in no dependencies at all! And it's simple enough for even a silly little dixiedancer, lol.
