I recently installed Ubuntu on a new eee pc 1001px-eu2x-bk. Wireless worked OOTB, and most of the fn keys are working fine.

But now the Fan for some reason the fan won't stop running at high speed, it never throttles down like it did when ubuntu was first installed. I installed openbox just now along with cpufreq, which I assume I need to install in order to get power management for the indicator on lxpanel. I uninstalled it but I have a feeling something got messed up along the way.

Powertop has: "[Kernel scheduler] load balancing tick" as the top cause for wake up. around 30-40%

Any suggestions to troubleshoot this?

Thanks

Dan
