Hi all,

I made some wiki documentation for upgrading Ubuntu (both regular and EOL versions). I would like to have (at least) links on the Ubuntu forums for these pages, I'm not sure after reading http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=677396 if the community wiki is regarded as off-site.
But it would be useful to include this documentation (and/or links to this) in the tutorial and howto section of the forums.

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Upgrades
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EOLUpgrades/* (Warty - Intrepid)

I actively support and update the wiki pages. I'm now at the point of only adding new EOL versions as the "framework" is completely done (proofreading has been done by one member of the ubuntu-doc maillinglist).

The main concern in writing the rule was people simply posting a link to a blog post or personal site and saying, "Go here to find the tutorial."

What you want to do, assuming you plan to incorporate those links into a tutorial post here that is more than just links, is just fine.

I appreciate you efforts, but, honestly I prefer to refer people to the official documentation and wiki pages when appropriate. We can not have a sticky or link to every wiki page and stickies are often ignored.

And of course the release notes :

Hi Bodhi,

I was not talking about a sticky topic. I was talking about a HOWTO/Tutorial in the HOWTO/Tutorial section of the forums. But, thinking about it, I'm not going to place both HOWTO's on the forum. Just on the wiki is fine.

Oh, my mistake.

The wiki is heavily utilized and IMO easier to maintain.

If you want to add a how to on the forums as well, I would support that.
