View Full Version : [ubuntu] Display Problems. Any help?

Hi people!

I've just replaced a broken HDD in a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro V2030 laptop. I installed the latest version of Ubuntu on it, the install works fine except there are some serious graphics problems. The default resolution is too high and I get the top left corner of the screen, meaning no network settings or taskbar is available. Whenever I attempt to change the resolution in monitor settings the display becomes completely scrambled.

I have tried using Xorg and xrandr to create new settings but even the screen's native resolution (1024x768) at the correct refresh rate (60) the display is scrambled.

The only visible setting is too high and most of the features are inaccessible.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Even if the screen followed the mouse it would be bearable.
