g2ipmsg problem

I have installed g2ipmsg in my Ubuntu 10.04 from the repository, when i click on the application it lists the users in my LAN, also i can send messages to them, but when they try to send me some text messages IT FAILS.

The same software (g2ipmsg) worked fine in my previous Ubuntu version (09.10).

I am complete exhausted trying to find the solution to this problem, would like some help.
