If your laptop has an Ethernet port, use it to connect to the Internet temporarily and download all the latest updates with System>Administration>Update Manager. About 3/4 of the time I do this, Wireless drivers are revealed within the Hardware Drivers Manager or the linux kernel updates add new support for the chipsets used in the adapter.

If that doesn't work for you, post back and we'll get it working with some other tools.

Please plug-in your wifi usb device. Open a terminal and type this command:

lsusb

Then, post the results.

If yours is a version 3 (V3) ( ID 1737:0077 ) you might want to look at this post.
