Hi.

There is a mail icon in my main bar, and I would like it to be green when I have new mail, and I would like this to check every 10 minutes, in the background, without having to open Evolution.

All help is appreciated.

Thanks.

System->Preferences->Mail notification are the settings available.

That option isn't avialable on my Lynx.
Isn't that a downloadable package? I had it before, and it was extremly useless.

That does not exist.

Yeah I find it a bit annoying that an evolution window has to be open for it to send and receive.

Get a Gmail account and use gmail notification.

Can anyone tell me the package name for the Mail preferences, or is it in Evolution?

I tried Mail Notification, but I find it EXTREMELY annoying that I have two mail icons in my panel, and that the theme of the notification are not the same as of the panel.

I notice that the PRE-INSTALLED mail notifier only works if Evolution is open and is minimized. So, again: How can I get the original mail icon to turn green without Evolution being open?
