Compaq Mini 311 - Ubuntu 10.04

I downloaded and installed Ubuntu 10.04 via Wubi then restart to complete the installation then BOOM nothing but a blank screen?
How do i fix it?

P.S.
I know 9.04 works but I'm OCD about being up to date and would prefure to run Windows 7 than out dated software
