Hi, I am about to buy this monitor ----

http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/pc-peripherals-printer/monitor/lcd-monitor/LS22PUZKFV/XS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=specification

Now, I searched about what to look for in a lcd monitor & found
(a) Response time,
(b)Contrast Ratio
(c) Connectivity options (vga, dvi etc)

These are the details of the monitor from the above link.

Display Screen Size 21.5" Wide

Resolution 1,920 x 1,080
Response Time (Typical) 5ms
Viewing Angle (Horizontal/Vertical) 170˚/160˚ (CR>10)
Color Support 16.7M

Sync. Signal Separate H / V, Composite, SOG

Special Features MagicBrightł, MagicEco, MagicAngle, MagicReturnOff timer, Image Size Colour Effect, Customised key, Windows7, DVI with HDCP

I know there are better models out there but this model is both within my budget & supports HD resolution.

My primary goal is to enhance my movie experience & a little bit of gaming too.

Please tell me is this good enough ?

Hi,

This monitor has 2 inputs, 1 D-SUB & 1 DVI.

When I switch on the monitor it displays "Analog" "Digital" "Analog" & finally selects the analog.

Now, I was thinking, can I connect my DVD player via a dvi converter to the monitor using the monitor's DVI port while my PC is already connected to the dsub port?

Will the monitor give me an option to select between the inputs in case both interfaces are receiving signals simultaneously (kind of like grub lets us choose the OS) ?

I don't want to do this without asking:idea:

Yes. It has a signal selection button where you can switch between the analog and digital inputs (which you would have found out if you downloaded the manual (http://www.samsung.com/sg/consumer/pc-peripherals-printer/monitor/lcd-monitor/LS22PUZKFV/XS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support) from the page you yourself linked to...)
