Recently I found out about the Ubuntu Global Jam, and it seemed like
it would be fun -- IF people are interested in participating. After
reading over the guidelines of how to set one up, I thought that the
King County Library meeting rooms seemed like a natural. So, would any
of you be interested in coming to say,

Boulevard Park Library
12015 Roseberg Ave. S.
Seattle, 98168
206-242-8662
(Corner of Roseberg Ave. S. and S.120th St.) -- just south of Boeing
Field, off 99/Marginal Way

on Saturday, Aug. 28th, say from noon until 5?

Global Jam: http://www.jonobacon.org/2010/07/27/ubuntu-global-jam-start-your-engines/

If there is interest I'll call and find out if we can get the room.
This can be done via IRC also, but I think it would be a lot more fun
to meet up -- maybe after lunch? People around the state, how do you
feel about logging into IRC on that day and jamming with us?

I'm not very technical, but I know how to file a bug, and am willing
to upgrade/test on that day, if nothing else!

Valorie

PS: The King Co. Library System is at http://www.kcls.org/, and
meeting rooms are free if available.

Well, I see I'm replying to myself. How embarassing. In any case, our event is here: http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/team/287/detail/

Please add yourself if you are participating, either from afar by IRC, or coming to Rainier Beach Library. The Jam continues through Sunday, so I hope a lot of us can join in the fun. I've blogged about my preparations: http://linuxgrandma.blogspot.com/2010/08/learning-new-skills-reformat-partition.html
