OK, I feel dumb for asking, but is anyone aware of software that runs on Ubuntu that'll produce nice, clean sheet music? I've written a little tune for my baby brother, and I want to give him a nicely-printed sheet to read.

Brunellus,
Your question caught my eye when I visited the forums today, since I commonly hear of people looking for music recording software, but never hear of anyone using notation software on linux. After a quick search, I found a great website that anyone doing music editing on linux may find useful (http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/linux/). There are numerous notation programs as well as recording software. I checked out a few of the notation programs, and found one that's really easy to use called Denemo (http://www.hitsquad.com/smm/programs/Denemo/). It's easy to install and use. Hope this helps!
