In my former (Windows) life, I used a graphical music notation application call ABCExplorer (eg: http://stalikez.info/abc/abcex.php )

Does such a thing exist for Desktop 10.04 ? On the ABC Project web site ( http://abcplus.sourceforge.net/#ABCExplorer ) I see several tools that offer versions for Debian/Ubuntu

I didn't find anything relevant in a search of all the forums but I don't know that my search was correct

thanks
Glen

I use Sibelius in a Windows virtual box for music notation, because I find the open source alternatives don't have drumline rudiments.

But some of these may work for you: Lilypond, Rosegarden, MuseScore or NoteEdit.

Try MuseScore and the ABC import plugin (http://musescore.org/en/project/abc)
