Authorization for Printing PDF??

Recently, Document Viewer has started asking for "permission" to print PDF files. I don't know where this came from but would like to change the behavior, if possible.

What happens when you print from Open Office? Did you try various PDFs? Are you SURE you have ownership of the file you want to print?

I too have been having this issue with pdf files; specifically my bank statements. it's very annoying. I can print documents from openoffice without password authentication.

The problem seems to be isolated when printing with Evince

it is a bit rather strange

couuld you post the conf file from /etc/cups

try to install and run : system-config-printer

there is no gruops to add for an user: tycpally one has :cdrom audio video scanner
