Hi , I want to buy a Ubuntu as an operating system for a ~Dell 2350 Desktop PC. Where can I find a Vendor who sells this product on a CD? and accepts either cash or Visa Electro? I want a simple current version to install on my computer as an operating system. Cheers

The main method of distribution is through the free download of iso's that you burn to a cd yourself. I do believe however that they offer to ship to you for a small price, possibly only the shipping fee.

In which country should this vendor be located?

There home is in London, UK.

But the software is available on many servers in the USA. Once installed you can choose a optimum server to download updates from, usually major local colleges or other servers supporting linux (not always just Ubuntu).

There are some vendors on ebay who would probably charge a dolloar or two to ship

(a single cd request is free but it may take 10 weeks)

Some sites selling them:
http://easylinuxcds.com/
http://on-disk.com/
http://www.osdisc.com/

If it isn't possible to burn a cd on that computer, you can also burn the downloadable Ubuntu ISO's to a usb drive as seen here http://www.pendrivelinux.com/put-ubuntu-10-04-on-flash-drive-using-windows/ and here http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/

Hope this helps.

Seems like most want you to use the download. Get it here on a CD strait from Ubuntu.
