I am trying the evolution mail client for the first time with a company email address, but I am getting this error and I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.


SASL 'LOGIN' Login failed for POP server pop3.mediacityonline.net: -ERR Authentication failed.

My pop server is correct, my smtp is correct, and my username and password is correct, but why is it telling me something is wrong?
I might of made a simple mistake with not using this client before, but the same settings worked fine on my iphone email client.

Anyone got any ideas to get me up and running on evolution?

You're probably using the wrong authentication method. Try unchecking "Use secure authentication". You probably don't need it if you're using SSL/TLS encryption.

I'm not using encryption and still stuck, I can give details of my email server if giving the info will help solve this.
