I have been looking all over, and I just can't find how to do this. I just downloaded the standalone version of Tremulous http://tremulous.net/index.php?section=files , but for the life of me, I can't figureout how to install the thing. I'm a bit rusty at Linux. Any help would be appreciated.

download the file, cd in terminal to the directory it is in then ./tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run to start it im reading up on the binary path right now as I think debian systems are a bit different.

That was what I tried. I tried that with and without sudo, I got "command not found" and "Permission denied", respectively, when I tried that.

Try changing the permtions of the file to exascutable. Easy way right click the file and choose properties then permitions and check off the exaqcutable boxes.
