hi all,

not sure if the hibernate function of my 10.04 install is working ok or not.

does one need to activate it is some specific manner ?

thing is, i forgot to hook up my laptop to AC power, and instead of hibernating it simply went out !

mind you, i checked and in the preferences tab of the power manager the option under "when battery power is critically low" is set to "hibernate".

so how comes this didn't work ?

It may be a hardware incompatibility. When I upgraded a Toshiba tablet to 10.04, the hibernate initially did not work. After the second new kernel image came in the updates, it worked fine. Maybe post your system details and some one will be better able to assist you.

here are my system details -

toshiba A 200 laptop.
2.0 GHz core duo
120 GB HDD
Intel 945 GM chipset

with earlier versions of ubuntu the internal bluetooth didn't work. but 10.04 detected it and it works fine now.
