Hi Guys, I suppose this is where I should post this. I run a project called Nimbits http://www.nimbits.com that is an online data historian / Data Logging Service that lets you record time series data (such as a changing temp) online. Data fed into Nimbits can then be accessed from many connected systems.

I just posted a free java program and source code on my blog here:

data-logging.html (http://nimbits.blogspot.com/2010/07/data-in-linux-command-line- data-logging.html)

And I demo how you can using it to record a value from a command line onto an Ubuntu server and have that value broadcast onto twitter or facebook - and you can see the value on your Android phone, instant message client, excel spreadsheets etc.

I think this is pretty cool stuff, please let me know if you have any thoughts or questions.

Ben
