Once, the sound of my ubuntu stopped. There was no sound anywhere. I updated the system, restarted the computer and the sound was back.
But some days after that, the problem returned. Restarting the computer didn`t help. I read somewhere that removing some packages (I unfortunately don`t remember which) will help, so I uninstalled them and it helped, but it had to download some codecs. But after running the Update manager, the problems continued. The video was three times faster and also with no sound. I read about problems like that with Ubuntu 8.04, and they wrote that it`s caused by a crash between Alsa and Pulse, and that it will be repaired in the next update. But nothing about such as problems with Lucid Lynx. Please, help me!
