Messed up Ipod Touch support

Ok, so I upgraded to the latest and greatest Ubuntu release and just got a new Ipod Touch which I hear works out of the box with 10.04. But seeing as how I couldn't add songs I tried to install iFuse using tutorials like: this (http://u-bunted.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-to-finally-sync-your-iphone-or-ipod.html)

The problem is, now my iPod won't even show up as mounted!
Any help would be VERY appreciated.

At the moment, I have installed iTunes on a virtual machine, but I would really like to not have to depend on Winblows any longer!
