How do you convert .flv videos to .mov format? I've searched but I couldn't find anything. I also tried to use openshot and kdenlive but they don't have the export option.

It's best to use mediainfo first to find out what is in the flv file - which codecs have been used.

Sometimes it's only necessary to change the container without re-encoding.

Install the Download Helper Plugin for Mozilla Firefox from http://www.downloadhelper.net/.
There is an option for download and convert. Whichever video you are viewing can be downloaded and converted to the desired format.
In case you want to convert saved .flv files, this software should work for you. Found it in a forum, its called ConvertIT.
To download the debian package, click on this link: http://www.sciallo.net/modules/archivio/archivi/ConvertIT/convertit.deb .
For more info on the software, click on http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=567016 .
Hope this solves your issues.
