Greetings all, after much poking and prodding I found that my past issues had a lot to do with my video card apparently no longer being supported by Ubuntu. So I replaced the video card and I got the installer to run normally and the system fully installed. However now I am a little stuck. All through the install I was working on a monitor that was attached to the VGA output. From the installer I changed the setting to have tv-out on the video card via the S-Video output on the card. When the install completes and reboots the system starts up, I see the Mythbuntu spash screen (all on the monitor at this point), and then what appears to be the switch-over to the S-video output and the monitor goes blank. There is a momentary flicker on my TV and then the tv screen is blank and stays that way. The system clearly boots up as I have SSH access. If I push the power button on the front of the system, it initiates a shutdown on the myth box and for just a moment I can see the Mythbuntu shutdown splash screen on my TV but it is confused... like an over driven input signal or something.

At any rate, anyone have any suggestions for me to try out?

AH! I believe I found the issue. It was complaining that there was no Mode set for the display so it was defaulting to 1024x768. I added a Device subsection in the config and set the Mode to 640x480 and now I have video.
