It seems that gnash has implemented va-api into their flash player alternative to adobe flash. Has anyone tried it yet and does it allow smooth playback of 1080p web based flash content?

...thanks to this VA-API support and with 1080p clips it's working out much better than Adobe's own proprietary Flash 10 player for Linux.

Tried to get it to work on Natty, but a required package xvba-video is currently broken.

You need this PPA for correct libva: https://launchpad.net/~dtl131/+archive/catalysthacks and you can get xvba-video here: http://www.splitted-desktop.com/~gbeauchesne/xvba-video/
