Hello guys, good evening. :)
Just want to ask this, na papansin ko na ito before pa. When we say "Ubuntu base", "Debian Based", "Redhat Based", "Fedora Based", "openSUSE Based", and so on. What does it mean? Does it mean na it talks about the commands or the applications? or any additional information I need to know about this thing?
Thanks and God bless. :)

It means that a distro is a 'fork' (for the lack of a better term) of another distro. For example, I want to make a Shengton-buntu, I can get a version of Ubuntu and just tweak it to become Shengton-buntu. That way, it's Ubuntu-based

It means it's based off of that distribution. They copied the distribution, modified it, then released it under a new name. For example we have: Debian -> Ubuntu -> Mint - you will notice many similarities between these three distributions because they are all related.

Mint wasn't mentioned. SliTaz wasn't. Our very own Bayanihan and KahelOS wasn't. And I believe about a hundred more wasn't listed.

yes it is tomatoes nonetheless, however every distro that based itself off another distro was created with another purpose besides the main distro's point of view. For example, Crunchbang Linux focused more on making the distro very lean, so they get an Ubuntu stripped down and put their own packages on it to make it lighter. Then, when they felt that Ubuntu's new versions cannot be what is required for a lean distro anymore, they decided to get Debian stripped down and put their packages in it in place of Ubuntu.
Another example is Linux Mint. Mint just put everything the users always install first in Ubuntu, such as ubuntu-restricted-plugins and adobe-flashplugin to make it more user friendly without the users having the necessity to do the installations themselves.
Sana nakatulong!):P
