I have installed Lucid on my macbook air, 2nd gen, SSD. When I booted of the livecd the green hardware drivers folder had 2 nvidea drivers and a broadcom wireless driver. I presume like gparted these are present on the cd but don't get transferred during the install as they can be easily downloaded. Unfortunately the MBA has no way to connect to the internet other than wirelessly so this isn't an option.

When I installed Karmic I downloaded the necessay drivers from my mac partition and copied them over when back in the linux partition. I've tried doing so with the Lucid equivalents :

http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/patch
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/dkms
http://packages.ubuntu.com/lucid/bcmwl-kernel-source

These refuse to install though giving me a message that either they are damaged or I havn't the correct permissions. Checking the permissions indicates I have read/write permissions.

If anyone can advise me as to what I need to do to get this working I'd be well grateful. Thanks.
