Pls, I am just a couple of month into using any Linux OS and I use Ubuntu 9.10. I ordered for the Ubuntu 10.04 CD from Canonical to upgrade because I don't have a fast internet connection to upgrade over the net.The problem is that when I insist the 10.04 CD into the tray it doesnot start the upgrade process. Please what can I do? Thanks.

A couple of options:

1. Back up your existing data to an external drive. Use your Ubuntu 10.04 Live CD to install the new release in place of (or next to, for a dual boot) your existing Ubuntu 9.10 install. Restore your documents from the backup.

2. Download the Ubuntu 10.04 Alternate CD. You can do an upgrade from the Alternate CD.

3. Upgrade over the net (which you said you can't do because you have a slow connection)
