Nadiscover ko din ang Meebo... may video calling sila, di lang nagwowork ang meebo sa isp namin sa bahay (i tried it sa office).

It`s an ok alternative but i use Gyachi which almost has everything that the Windows version has including voice and webcam.

another work around is to force your contacts to use SKYPE. But that's another proprietary software on you linux box. :lolflag:
KDE's Kopete supports video call pero I haven't used the feature for a very long time. :p

Yahoo! Messenger for the web has been out for years, but I don't use it because Pidgin is enough for me. Whenever I need to make video calls on Yahoo! Messenger, I just use Gyachi https://launchpad.net/~loell/+archive/ppa

At home gamit nila eh YM lang. Ang hirap turuan gumamit ng iba. I tried to install skype sa kanila (on win xp sa pinas), naghahang daw pc. :(
The problem with meebo sa uae using etisalat network-- di ka makalog.. ewan bakit.

karamihan din kasi ng mga kakilala ko uses or have YM account instead of Skype, medyo may kahirapan din silang i-convince to sign-up and install Skype on their machine (Windows that is..), yup Gyachi does the job for me as well, but for first time Ubuntu user one of the frequently asked question is "how do you install YM on Linux?" and most of them are not aware that YM on web is available I assume that this thread perhaps may help them decide which one would suit their needs and they are comfortable with, keep them coming guys! ;)

correction proggy! it's more than an alternative to YM because in Gyachi you can see whose online but in "invisible" mode which you can't find on YM installed in Windows! kaya pede mo silang i BUZZ para magulat sila at magtaka kung pano mo nalaman na online sila hahaha.. Thanks to you Loell I still owe you my soul right?! hahaha :lolflag:
as for Skype for Linux.. astig talaga sa bilis ang video call!

ang pangit lang kasi sa mga webmessenger is kung di naset ng tama sa kabilang kausap or di kaya marunong mag-enable.

tested Mebeam, it's okey, am not sure if it's my Broadband connection medyo mabagal lang ng konti.. but it's good if gusto nyong instant video conference no signing up or whatsover! astig.. punta ka sa website type ka lang ng name Room (any name would do) bigay mo sa mga gusto mong maka-usap i-direct mo sila sa Mebeam site and i-type lang nila yung name ng Room na ginawa mo and yun na! instant video conference!
