Hi Gatorbowls, I'm just trying to make sure I don't miss anything. As far as I know Ubuntu is FREE, so why pay for it if you can simply just download it in like 10-20 minutes from the net? Is your CD coming with other features Ubuntu normally doesn't have? Please advise.

Downloading isn't an option for some of our fellow Ubuntu users - some still use dial-up, making download impractical.

Clicking a few buttons on ebay is alot less hassle than downloading the cd and burning it.

Is $3.25 really worth the convenience when CDs cost less than 10 cents each and software like k3b makes burning easy on Linux?

I got my Ubuntu 8.04 CD for free in the mail.
I didn't pay shipping or nothing. They even included STICKERS!
And even if newer versions weren't available for shipment, the old version works just as well and allows you to upgrade to the latest anyway!
Selling that doesn't seem right to me. . . it seems down-right wrong.
=\
So anyone who's thinking of buying an Ubuntu CD, PM me! I'll be sending out copies for free!

It's not wrong. Like he said, some people have dial up, and I would rather pay $3 than mess with that. I have high speed, so not a problem. You can have Ubuntu ship you one, but it takes up to 10 weeks! People have always paid for convenience, and distributing free software is a valid thing to do. Richard Stallman invented the general public license, and he says it's ok. It's especially ok if you give a portion of those earnings back to the source(Ubuntu or some other open source project). Just my 2 cents.

Good point, I guess I just wouldn't charge for one, I'd just sent it out, I'm not saying it's illegitimate, but that I wouldn't charge, maybe shipping and handling. =P
And 3.25 seems reasonable between CD cost / S+H.
