Please remove gnome-power-manager from backports as it does not and will not work on breezy currently. See https://launchpad.net/products/breezy-backports/+bug/6640

Gnome-power-manager (0.2.8.1-1ubuntu1~breezy1) from backports has been running perfectly fine here with Breezy on an IBM Thinkpad T23, no problems with suspend whatsoever.
