Alam po kasi natin na mabagal ang apt-get by default. So I found this object on the net and God, ang bilis like hell. Sayang nga lang at hindi na to inupdate ng developer kasi Arch Linux user na siya, pero since it's an open-source script, pwede itong iimprove ng other users. So I am hoping that someone could improve this great script (can download anything on apt-get 8 times faster on my experience). Last update was on Dec. 2009 pa. And he already considered this as his "golden" release.

Required software: Axel Download Accelerator and of course, apt-get

Ayan yung webpage nung developer. Sa experience niya 26x niyang napabilis ang apt-get using that.

Sana may umampon sa script na to. Galing e.:guitar:

Maasyos naman yung script, maiksi lang kaya hindi naman siguro magkakaroon ng malaking problema any time soon. :D

So paano naman magagamit ang script na to to run while using synaptic and Ubuntu Software Center? Surely iniisip ko rin yung mga newbie users, they prefer gui installation method such as software-center and synaptic.

I like this script to be automatically executed along synaptic and/or software-center, with the option to use apt-get only or with the script. In this way multiple-threaded downloading packages wont be a problem for newbie users under the package managers' GUIs.

I hope you can help me with this? Salamat naman po!!!

That might involve tweaking Synaptic itself. Hehehe, hindi na kaya ng powers ko yun.:lolflag:

Hello guys, good morning. :)

Is there an equivalent with this in openSUSE?

Take care and God bless. :)

According to http://en.opensuse.org/APT, "APT is included with the latest openSUSE, but it's not installed by default." If you install it, then follow what's in the apt-fast page (http://www.mattparnell.com/projects/apt-fast-and-axel-roughly-26x-faster-apt-get-installations-and-upgrades.html) (like installing Axel), I don't see why it shouldn't.
