This is a little late for Dapper, but there are a lot of great ideas in here for Dapper and Dapper+1.

I really like some of the idea's especially the Nautilus improvements and Rhythmbox notification.

I don't agree about the mp3 file thingy but I think that a better error should definately be shown... maybe something like "This is a propertary format, it might be illegal for linux to decode this format in your country, please refer to the helpsection on how to install support for this format"

If you can get past the broken English, there are some good suggestions.

You know, sometimes trolls on these forums like to kid themselves that Linux users can't admit that there's anything wrong with Linux.

Not only can they admit it--they're often able to rattle off a long list of what needs to be improved.

My guess is that this link, unlike anti-Linux troll posts, will get a lot of positive feedback because it's constructive, and because it identifies real problems.

I like most of them, but I will say that it's important to note that the link starts off by targeting Gnome specifically. Some of the suggestions have already happened in KDE, and some people call this "bloat" or "confusing/too many options."

Some of these are really brilliant! I particularly like his idea for better notification for long processes like torrents and CD burns (progressbar in taskbar/notification area)! Why has no one thought of this?!

I liked the majority of sugestions but some were just to much "Lets make it Windows". Example for this is the ALT+F4=Logout, shutdown etc.

yeah, I agree. most of these were really well thought-out, but I'm less of a fan of windows-ifying things for the sake of windows-ification. Does Apple catch as much flak from the usability nazis?

(I should note that I haven't really used OSX, but played with it, and didn't find it to be as miraculously usable as most do. But then, I was fumbling for a terminal so I could get comfortable)

Some good ideas, I could add about 400+, as could others I know.
For multimedia center check XboxMediaCenter (I'm sure you must be able to compile for your PC, CVS and source available).
EDIT: Sorry, my bad. Not positive about this, source code is available, but site states that they can't provide binaries until a non MS-compiler is available??
