View Full Version : [ubuntu] iPod Nano 5G, Banshee (1.7.1) sync fail

I have this really annoying problem with syncing music to my iPod Nano 5g.
When I plug the iPod, Banshee is able to see it and even is showing as if it transfers the songs to it (well, it actually does as the songs appear in the ipod_control/music folder). However, when I unplug it the iPod itself doesn't read the library (0 songs).

Even tried to compile libgpod from the source with no luck :(

Does anyone know a workaround; it's such a pain in the *** to start VirtualBox in order to transfer a couple of songs.

My specs:
Ubuntu 10.04
Banshee 1.7.1
iPod Nano 5G

Sometimes GtkPod works correctly. Banshee does not. VirtualBox is the way to go.

There is some USB support in Wine, but it is not finished yet.

Hi, I had the same issue with rhythmbox. In order to solve the problem, I had to initialize the ipod with Itunes.

Hope it can help.
