View Full Version : [ubuntu] graphics card nvidia 230m in low graphics mode in vaio vpccw16fg

i freshly installed Ubuntu 10.04 on my vaio vpccw16fg ( graphics card nvidia 230m). every time i boot into Linux i have to use nomodeset . well thats a kind of annoying.

i also tried to install nvidia 195. 36.31 driver. and edited my xorg.conf file

but still no success at all.
when i dont select the nomodeset option screen goes blank and when i use it says
"linux running in low graphics mode".
i have been googling a lot and now i am tired.
please please help me.
