Hello!
I'm new to write on this forum, but I,ve often read here about troubles other people have had trying to install a Linux distribution on an Amilo Xa- laptop.
I have been trying to find a distro that would work on my three years old Amilo Xa2528-27P laptop.
I've tried Ubuntu and I've tried Mandriva. Both of them work otherwise fine, but neither one could not find or mount Amilo's CD/DVD-drive.
Now I've happened to find a Brazilian originating Linux distribution called Dreamlinux 3.5 and it works perfectly on XA2528-27P right out of the box.
The Dreamlinux homepage where you can download the distribution is http://www.dreamlinux.com.br/.
I hope this is any help to someone like me, who's been searching for more than two years.
