And I don't know why.

The crashes are hours apart, and only after it has been on, and been used for a long period of time. However, I don't think it's a heat problem - "acpi -V" usually reads around 55 degrees all the time, and it's not like the fans aren't working (noisey as heck).

I'm a bit of a linux noob - converted to Ubuntu after being with Arch Linux for just over a year. So I'm still a little stiff with Ubuntu.

Can someone help me troubleshoot the crashes? Which logs should I look in?

Thanks,

(hope this is in the right section..)

Nevermind - I'll close this as solved.

I believe the problem may have arisen from the "bug" in polkitd - where the CPU usage and memory usage increase and increase, leaving the system unusable, and possible leading it to a crash. Removing my ~/.pulse and ~/.dbus directories seemed to fix this.
