hello my imac g3 screen goes black when X starts
i hear the sound but i see nothing
when i press ctrl+alt+f1 i see the text
tried the xorg thing but i don't know how 2 do it
there is no xorg.conf i the hdd
so coud you make one 4 me'
all that i know about the ppc
imac g3 snow
plss help me :mad:
orrr is there another way
i can copy any file from my ubuntu pc to the ppc hdd if needed

If you insist on a working computer, I can advise you Linux Mint.
It's based on Debian. It works better than Ubuntu, believe me.

and i have an porable hdd is there any chance that i can boot from that one instead of the cd?

There is no installable iso (yet), just follow the manual.
I would advize you to do a netboot installation from USB. It works great.

**** the ****ing ppc needed to **** up this instlltion too!!!!!
i am not ****ing able to install mint
however debian instlled sucsefully
i got another ****ing error
plsss coud somebody upload all the files needed 4 mint

ok i installed mint i got an unknown error anyway i restarted the ppc and BOOM the creepy black screen instead of graphics as always
why the **** wont this black screen leave me alone!

i checked out
now x fails to start because it says that x can't find the screen?
and what video card do i have
nvidia or ati?
i have an imac g3 snow by default i get

parse error on line 33 of section device in file xorg.conf
This section must have an identifier line
Fatal server error:
no screens found
