I run 10.04 on both my Asus eee and my aluminum iMac. I recently got rid of 10.04 UNE on my Asus in favor of the regular desktop edition.

Anyhow, my problem is that on my Asus, GIMP doesn't show up in the application menu. It showed up in UNE's app menus and it also shows up on my desktop computer's application menu.

So currently I'm using Terminal to launch GIMP but I'd really prefer to have my menu icon back. Any thoughts?

P.S. I'm really very new at this, so please forgive any ignorance of basic knowledge.

you can edit the menu with alacarte

alacarte

There you can make another starter with the command gimp en you can maybe do a search for the correct icon if that isn't showed by default.

Alacarte also has a menu starter in the system menu, but I don't like searching through menu's I prefer a quick ALT+F2 and a letter or three.
