email links

I have just installed 10.04 and almost everything works fine. I have two problems, however, that I can't seem to solve, but only one at a time for now.Here is my first problem: When a link is sent to me via email, clicking on that link will do nothing. For the link to work, I have to cut and paste, something I haven't done since my days with AOL.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I suspect your messages are displaying in Plain Text.

Assuming you're using Evolution, go to Edit >> Preferences.

On the window that opens, select Mail Preferences (on the left hand side). On the HTML Messages tab at the bottom there's a section called Plain Text Mode, from the drop down list select Show HTML if Present.

go to system > preferences > preferred applications

make sure "firefox" or whatever browser you prefer is selected under "web browser"
