No printers after new install in 10.04

Hi all,

I've just done a new install after having problems with no text in Firefox and went to set up my printers. The Add button is greyed out and it tells me at the bottom of the box I'm 'Not connected' which stops me installing my printers.

Connected to what might be a relevant question here?

Anyone got any suggestions please.

PS. I've done a few re-installations recently, due to me not being adept at sorting out problems and the installation is slightly different everytime.

I had the same problem. All I had to do was re-install cups. "Presto!" The add printer button was now enabled.

To reinstall:
System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
Search for "cups"
Right-click on "cups" and choose "Mark for re-installation"
Click the check mark to apply the changes
