hello everyone...... i need some advice and guidance....
I am pursuing B.Tech in computer sciences and I am in my pre-final year. I am determined to make my career in system programing / operating system development. I have been using Ubuntu for two years and I just love using it. I want to develop skills so that i may also be able to help in development. The problem is that I have no idea where to start. I consulted my faculty but they don't have specific knowledge. I need some guidance on where to start and what do I need to study. please if any one can guide me.
I'l really be grateful.

Try getting involved with your local ubuntu community

http://www.ubuntu.com/community

You can find your local team and then contact them via the mailing lists to get better information.

I think the first thing you need to learn is C++ as Linux and most if not all applications are written in this language.

Also visit www.kernel.org for info on the Linux kernal and documentation.

Welcome! To begin with, what part of the country or world do you reside in? Your choice to answer, but answers to your questions may apply to one area and not another. For instance, can you attend OSCON?
