"Trust" webcam issue

hello,
i want to use my "Trust" webcam in 10.04 lynx, i connect the usb webcam, seems it is working (green led on) but i cannot use it with any programm (skype, cheese etc)
i think it is a driver problem but i dont know how to proceed. i tried in the forum and in google but what i found didn't help me.
is it possible to use an old trust webcam with ubuntu? if not, which webcam are compatible?

Came across your question while looking into my problem.

My USB webcam works fine, but the green LED is on when the camera is off and off when the camera is on. If you are suffering with the same problem, perhaps your camera is not working at all.
