I have a problem with the BBC iplayer. I've upgraded ubuntu to 10.04 and iplayer has stopped working. The iplayer desktop refuses to run, both when the desktop (or menu item) is clicked, and also when a download is clicked on the iplayer site. I've tried uninstalling AdobeAir, and reinstalling. Also, I've completely removed AdobeAir and Iplayer and reinstalled. Still nothing. I'm running 10.04 on a Lenovo 3000 N200 with an Intel Centrino dual core. Flummoxed I'm flummoxed.

Anyone else had a similar issue, or know how to fix it??

Quick look on the iPlayer site reveals that 9.04 is the latest supported version of Ubuntu for the AIR version.

Maybe contact the BBC and ask about 10.04 support.

I failed to record a BBC programme my wife wanted to see. Thought of iPlayer and found there's a Desktop version, but it was for 9.04. Took a flier and installed it on my Intel Atom 510 Ubuntu 10.04 system and it works ok except for sound sync not quite right.

I watch BBC Iplayer through XBMC using the BBC Iplayer plugin. You could perhaps use this as a work-around for now?

iPlayer just works on my install of 10.04. In fact, I've NEVER had any issues with the Beeb. You do live in the UK don't you?
