Dear all,

Since upgrading to lucid lynx, video streaming from bbc iplayer within firefox, in both standard and HD, is unwatchable, due to extreme video stuttering, although the sound is fine.

In 9.10, the iplayer worked fine, both within firefox and within the standalone iplayer.

I have a well-specced PC (Intel Quad Core 2.4GHz) with a reasonable graphics card (Nvidia 8600 GT) with 4GB RAM and, for comparison, I've booted into Windows Vista and iplayer works fine.

As an additional test, I loaded up XBMC within Ubuntu and iplayer worked fine from there, presumably because XBMC uses the graphics card for video decoding. When I right click on the iplayer video window from firefox, you can select settings, and the enable hardware acceleration box is checked.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks for reading.

Hi,

I've had the same problem especially in full screen mode it sometimes even kicks me out and then reverts to standard size and back to the start of the programme.

Any help would be great.
