Hello Guys,

I did a no-cd installation from my current ubuntu install to my new ubuntu installation on another partition.

I used these instructions:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromLinux#Without%20CD

The problem i'm having is that after the loading screen i don't get a graphical login screen as normal, but rather, a terminal asking for login.

Since the installation process just copies files over, i never was able to make login credentials.

Does anybody know what to do in this situation?

Thanks!!

That's the craziest thing I've ever seen, lol.

Have you tried just hitting enter, i.e. not typing anything? I think I remember "ubuntu" being a password or username with no password or something like that from the Lucid Development Forum. Might be worthwhile to search through it.

You have left out if you followed all the steps did you update, upgrade and install a desktop.

Not much faster now is it.
