I don't understand why the other thread was locked. None of the content on it seemed inflammatory or over the top. Locking a topic like that down in that case is simply disrespectful to anyone who might have anything constructive to add.

I would just like to comment, that the addition of the search bar threw me off because I was so used to just putting my mouse right in the middle of the brown bar but now I have to adapt because a function that I rarely use has just been given a bunch of interface space (to me, bloat) and now I have to adapt to a feature that I never asked for or wanted.

No big deal. I just have to take a little longer to learn the location of 'new posts' and ignore that big white gap in the brown navigation bar.

Today I log on to find the 'new posts' link missing so that the interface space can be replaced by a more useless feature?

Please bring it back to the nav bar. Some people, like myself, use this feature every single time we visit these boards.

I'm going to go with:

"It's the administration's decision, they don't need to debate it with you, further comments are pointless, and you were beginning to repeat yourself."

Really. Are we SO LAZY that we need to whine about clicking twice instead of once?

It was the very same way as it was with the fixed width discussion, It's about usability.

It's about doing away features that nobody asked for because they reduce the usability of features that people already use.

Bingo.. I stated in that thread a few times the reasons why.
