View Full Version : [ubuntu] Netbook menu for entertainment PC

I setup an entertainment pc connected to a plasma with 10.04 and installed the global menu and it rocks. It's really easy to use with that new menu although the setup was a little strange. I just installed the global menu from the repository, rebooted and it worked. I highly recommend this option. I might make my own build with DVD/Flash/divx etc.

What is the actual name of the menu package?

It's a slab type menu, rather like the slab menu in Suse and Mint. Personally, it's not for me, and even on Mint, when I tried it, I quickly removed it and used the ordinary main-menu, not menu-bar, which is the default gnome menu system.

Not for me either, although I can see the appeal. It seems like a hybrid of the Ubuntu menu bar and the Windows start button.
