I'm trying Lynx on an HP Mini Mi 1000 - wifi doesn't work and is fixable (I presume). A more important frustration is the color scheme of the gnome desktop. I'm sure that some and perhaps many people like the default colors in Lynx. However, they and the panel icons are harder for my eyes. The colors and icons in 8.04 and 9.10 were far easier to see (for me). Is there a way to change the colors in 10.04?

You can also right-click on any panel, choose Properties > Background, and then change it to any color you want, including how transparent the panel should be. Saves having to install any software!

Are you using the Ubuntu Netbook Edition or the regular Ubuntu desktop?
The Netbook Edition desktop is designed for small screens and will be a lot easier for you to use.

Try the Radiance theme. It's similar to the default Lynx theme but is a light version. It should be under Appearance.
